The University of Dayton School of Law produces ethically centered graduates who are technologically sophisticated problem-solvers with superior analytical and professional skills. The school's distinctive graduates are well prepared to handle the legal challenges of the 21st century.

During the past 10 years, the School of Law has successfully implemented new programs and initiatives to support its students. The school's unique first-year legislation requirement strengthens students' foundation for work in statutory and regulatory contexts. A legal profession course sequence fosters basic professional lawyering skills. The dynamic Program in Law and Technology emphasizes intellectual property and computer/cyberspace law. Emerging areas, such as environmental law and health care law, provide students with the lawyering skills and values needed to solve 21st-century problems. The new Joseph E. Keller Hall, home of the School of Law, is a state-of-the-art environment for the preparation of lawyers. It is one of the most technologically advanced law schools in the nation.

These initiatives have created a foundation for excellence in legal education. But it is only a foundation. Strong programs and new scholarships are needed to attract a top-notch, diverse student body. Endowed chairs will help attract and retain nationally recognized faculty and allow UD to compete with the nation's top law schools. New curricular offerings in emerging fields ensure that students are prepared to meet tomorrow's challenges. These initiatives will help the School of Law produce the new lawyer for the 21st century.

To fund these projects, the School of Law is carefully managing its resources as well as raising funds through the University's Call to Lead Campaign.
